Four Dimensions of the New Thought Lifeway:

K02 New Thought Movement

Power of positive thinking, affirmation, and the creative ability of the mind to manifest desired outcomes in life.

The New Thought Movement in the United States is a diverse and spiritually progressive movement that emerged in the 19th century and has continued to evolve to the present day. It represents a holistic and metaphysical approach to spirituality, emphasizing the power of positive thinking, the creative potential of the mind, and the interconnectedness of all life. The movement is marked by its belief that individuals can shape their own lives and experiences through the use of their thoughts and beliefs.

The Agape International Spiritual Center is a new thought group in Beverly Hills, CA.

The Mind is Central to One's Well-Being

At its core, the New Thought Movement teaches that the mind plays a central role in one's well-being and life circumstances. Individuals can manifest positive changes in their lives by cultivating a positive mental attitude, affirming desired outcomes, and maintaining a strong connection to the divine or universal intelligence. New Thought followers see this philosophy as often encapsulated in the biblical phrase, "As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he." (Proverbs 23:7).

Encompasses Spiritual and Metaphysical Traditions

The New Thought Movement encompasses a variety of spiritual and metaphysical traditions, including Unity, Divine Science, Religious Science (Science of Mind), and others. These traditions share common beliefs about the inherent divinity of each individual, the importance of spiritual growth, and the healing power of prayer and meditation.

Offers Spiritual Classes, Inspirational Talks, Meditation Sessions

New Thought churches and centers throughout the United States offer a range of programs and services, including spiritual classes, inspirational talks, and meditation sessions. Many emphasize the practical application of New Thought principles in daily life, encouraging individuals to improve their health, relationships, and prosperity through a positive and spiritually grounded mindset.

Significant Role in the Development of Self-Help Literature

The movement has also played a significant role in developing self-help and personal development literature. Influential authors such as Ernest Holmes, Napoleon Hill, and Louise Hay have drawn upon New Thought ideas to inspire readers to achieve personal and professional success through the power of the mind.

Summary

In summary, the New Thought Movement in the United States represents a spiritually progressive and holistic approach to life and well-being. It emphasizes the power of positive thinking, the creative potential of the mind, and the interconnectedness of all life. While diverse in its expressions and traditions, the movement continues to inspire individuals to explore their inner potential and apply metaphysical principles to improve their lives.
